We killed Thok the Bloodthirsty tonight on our 24th attempt. We thought it would be harder than Spoils of Orgrimmar, but it’s definitely not. With enough planning and preparation, I expect it is a pushover for most guilds.
On this kill it felt like it was about time to strike a pose for a screenshot. Well done everybody!
We spared no expense
We killed Malkorok a few weeks ago. Pretty simple in relfection, other than the odd random issue with absorbing pools.
Yesterday we finally worked out how to do Spoils effectively. Let me just note that this type of fight, where you are basically running two 5 man groups, is not fun as a 10 man group. It divides people and causes no-end of arguments, with little in the way of evidence for either side to analyse and help each other. Shame on you, Blizzard.
Thok next; we discovered we have a setup which makes him near impossible at this time. Great!
We killed General Nazgrim a few weeks ago, without too much trouble. He was actually pretty easy, using only 7 attempts to get him down. I’m pretty sure he’s one to cheese with obscure groups to get him down stupidly quick, but we’ll see about that.
Next on the list was Dark Shaman when we revisited them in the following week, proving slightly more difficult with some very annoying pathing bugs for the blobs and bosses themselves. Being the ball in a game of teleport-tennis was not fun, but working around what we could guess to be the issues was relatively easy, and they were soon down.
We’ve already had a few attempts on Malkorok in the previous lockout, and we feel we’re pretty much there already on tactics. Once we get the execution right (and don’t lag) I expect this to be downed pretty soon, which means Spoils of Pandaria would be our next target. Looks fun!
This week we focussed on getting down the bosses that appear to be easy, or we have a tactical advantage on. First up was Sha of Pride, being one of the bosses we skipped over last week due to some unknown ways we could deal with the mechanics. As it turns out, he’s just stupid easy and we had him down on our 5th pull.
The next guy on our list was the slightly harder Iron Juggernaut with his insane physical damage output. We wiped many times last week on him while we perfected a strategy, but this week we all individually came up with ways we could handle the clear problems we were facing and ended up falling into a pattern that meant we got the kill.
Easy; 6 seconds left!
Our Sunday progress is somewhat tricky since we know General Nazgrim is pretty easy, but there’s a chance we may be able to get Dark Shaman down too – always nice to surprise ourselves!
We thought it was time to kill some heroic bosses. I mean, we’re realm rank one and we need to show we mean business, right?
